Senior Admissions Officer (Undergraduate)
Permanent | £36,000-£43,000 | Hybrid (3 days on campus) | London
If you are an experienced, forward-thinking Senior Admissions Officer keen to play a central role in shaping and delivering an undergraduate admissions service, this could be the opportunity for you. You will join a small, innovative institution where you will balance hands-on admissions delivery with process improvement, systems development, and the scope to take on future line-management responsibilities.
The role
As Senior Admissions Officer, you will play a central part in delivering and developing the undergraduate admissions function. You will combine hands on decision making with opportunities to shape processes, systems and the wider applicant experience. Your work will involve close collaboration with colleagues across the university, as well as with the systems team based in the US.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the majority of standard undergraduate offer making, ensuring decisions are accurate, consistent and aligned with policy
- Handle complex admissions cases and sensitive queries, offering clear and confident guidance to applicants, parents and colleagues
- Contribute to refining admissions processes, improving workflows and strengthening service standards across the applicant journey
- Work with the systems team to enhance CRM functionality, including improving workflows, reporting capability and UCAS data integration
- Support data driven initiatives such as developing and applying a lead scoring model to inform recruitment and admissions activity
- Represent Admissions at key events and collaborate with teams across the university on activities such as clearing and enrolment planning
What Success Looks Like
Within 8 to 18 months you will independently manage the majority of standard offers with excellent accuracy and turnaround times. You will be the go to person for complex cases and will have delivered visible improvements to communication, workflows, data use or CRM configuration.
About you
- Significant UK higher education admissions experience with decision making responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of a student record or admissions system
- Evidence of improving processes or systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage varied workloads and meet service expectations
- Confidence working with colleagues at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Familiarity with Common App or US admissions cycles
- Experience with Slate or another end to end CRM
- Experience presenting at recruitment or offer holder events
- Experience in smaller or fast changing institutions
- Experience mentoring or supervising colleagues
