Diversity, equity & inclusion: Why it matters for businesses
An organisation with a diverse workforce has shown to improve productivity, creativity and innovation, leading to better success of a company, its employees and partnerships.
In the UK, there are several policies and initiatives for protection against discrimination, such as the Equality Act 2010. Although, DEI should go further than just legal compliance.
By organisations incorporating DEI strategies towards initiatives, improvements, employee wellbeing policies and regular training can effectively build a positive workplace experience for all.
In this video our DEI Committee Ambassadors talk about the importance of DEI in the workplace.

“I want to be a part of the change that is happening around us. Being part of TA allows me to really show my passion for people and being part of the LGBTQ+ community has meant I want to ensure everyone can be recognised for their potential contribution.“
Ryan Sullivan, Talent Acquisition Associate Director and DEI Committee Member.
Programme One
In 2020, we were thrilled to launch Programme One. As a co-founder, with seven other agencies, we all shared the same vision, to deliver an impactful programme to improve the underrepresentation of Black talent in the recruitment industry.
The programme provides Black recruiters with access to a 12-month mentorship scheme.
- Every Black recruiter a part of Programme One will receive a mentor to help them develop their recruitment career and learn from the experiences of their mentor.
- Each agency in partnership with Programme One will provide two mentors. Each mentor will take responsibility to be a positive role model to a Black recruiter part of the scheme.
