RENT & SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNTANT

I’m delighted to announce that Gravitas Group have partnered with a well-established Housing Association outside of Bedford. Through additional resource, my client is looking to hire a Rent & Service Charge Accountant, to work with the Service Charge Manager and support the Finance team of 30 plus.
Reporting into the Service Charge Manager and Group Financial Controller, the Rent and Service Charge Accountant, will be responsible for.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead on setting rents for Social Housing Tenants
- Lead on and complete the estimated service charge process for tenants, from the calculation of charges to ensuring correct details are included in notifications to residents and these are printed and posted.
- Lead on and complete the actual service charge procedure.
- To be the point of contact for tenants, internal and external auditors with any costing queries/audits.
- Actively promote Tenant engagement around the service delivery and standards of services where the service is funded by way of service charges.
- Be inquisitive and challenging with the ability to apply innovative and creative thinking to service challenges within a fast-paced environment.
- A qualified or part qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience in a similar Rents and Service Charge role.
- Experience from within the Housing or Property sectors.
- Have strong analytical skills, with experience drawing key financial insights.
- Have strong stakeholder management skills.
- A good understanding of relevant legislation and accounting principles for Housing Associations is desirable but not essential.
- Any experience Open Accounts and Aeron QL though training will be provided.
The successful candidate will have Rents & Service Charge experience in a medium to large Housing Association and have experience.
