We are seeking an experienced Housing Business Analyst with a strong background in the Housing IT sector for a remote contract position. This role is Inside IR35 and will run for an initial period of six months. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Housing Management Systems and the associated business processes, with a demonstrable ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
The successful applicant must have extensive experience working on housing-related IT transformation projects, ideally within local authority or social housing sectors. A keen understanding of tenancy management, rent accounting, repairs and maintenance systems, and housing regulatory compliance is essential. In addition, familiarity with system integration, data migration, and user acceptance testing is crucial to success in this role.
You will work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, document current and future state processes, develop functional specifications, and contribute to solution design. Strong skills in requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and project documentation are necessary, along with proven experience of working within Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall environments.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in using tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, and have a solid grasp of housing-specific platforms such as Northgate, Civica, Capita, Aareon QL or similar. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are vital, as is the ability to work independently within a remote team structure.
A background in business change and transformation projects, with a clear focus on improving service delivery and operational efficiency through the effective use of IT systems, will be highly advantageous. You must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
