Data Engineer (Databricks essential)
£60,000–£75,000 + Benefits
Hybrid – 2 days a week in London, Manchester, or Edinburgh
Gravitas is partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong consultancy background to deliver large-scale data engineering and cloud transformation projects across the UK
You will work across multiple projects, leveraging Databricks, Azure, and modern data engineering practices to develop secure, high-quality pipelines and support Lakehouse and warehouse environments.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying best practices in engineering, governance, and cloud technologies.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on Databricks experience (Essential for this role)
- Solid experience with Azure data services
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Strong programming skills in SQL
- Experience delivering solutions across:
- Data Governance, Data Migration, Data Modelling
- ETL/ELT
- Data Warehousing & Data Lakes
- Strong understanding of data engineering best practices, including:
- Git & version control, APIs
- Containers & microservices
- Orchestrating data pipelines
- Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps-oriented teams
Certifications
- Databricks Data Engineer Associate
- Databricks Data Engineer Professional
- Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700
Package
- £110k–£125k base salary
