Leading the Technology financial planning, driving budget planning, cost optimisation, and ensuring fiscal compliance across all Technology expenditure and accountable for the Planning, forecasting, day-to-day management and tracking of the Technology budget including Long-Term Financial Plan.

Gravitas Recruitment Group are partnered with a leading UK Housing Association. They’re looking to hire a Commercial Director (Finance & Technology), responsible for the financial, commercial and delivery operations of the Technology department.
Leading the Technology financial planning, driving budget planning, cost optimisation, and ensuring fiscal compliance across all Technology expenditure and accountable for the Planning, forecasting, day-to-day management and tracking of the Technology budget including Long-Term Financial Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a coordinated approach to Supply Chain management in Corporate Services (Governance and Transformation, People and Finance), in line with the expectations of the Group Supply Chain framework, to deliver the corporate strategy and Supply Chain objectives.
- Ensures the supply chain requirements for Corporate Services are met through the execution of the Supply Chain framework and leads on category management in line with the expectations of the framework.
- Actively strives to achieve value for money from the Corporate Services supply chain through application of category management and supply chain optimisation.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain ‘hub’ to act on learnings and insight derived from analysis of the central team, to act on supply chain risks and anticipate demand.
- Ensuring delivery standards and the effective planning, governance, and on-time, on-budget execution of the business portfolio, working in collaboration with the Planning and Portfolio team, to deliver required outcomes.
- Lead on the build and maintenance of the Technology long-term financial plans, working in collaboration to align with wider organisation strategy and the activity to deliver the Transformation & Change objectives.
- Provide financial insight at the Transformation & Change portfolio level, collaborating with Finance and the Planning and Portfolio team, to inform strategic decisions and capture downstream impact on Technology budgets and the Long-Term Financial Plan.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Services teams to anticipate and plan for supply chain requirements and demands.
- Support the Corporate Services teams with contract management expertise, to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts and commissions.
- Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain ‘hub’ to develop a shared delivery plan
- Partner with Transformation & Change teams to drive and co-develop joined-up financial plans, guiding their business cases, and ensuring alignment between resource/capacity demand, budget, and forecast.
- Collaborate closely with the Strategy & Performance and Planning & Portfolio teams.
- Manages any escalations with suppliers, working in collaboration and in support of Corporate Service colleagues who are managing supplier performance on a day-to-day basis.
- Accountable for the robust delivery, tracking, forecasting and expense control of annual Opex and Capex budgets, the long-term financial plan, and contributes towards the financial planning within Transformation & Change activity.
- Ensure the Technology budget and long-term financial plan, accurately reflect the financial performance in year.
- Ensure all practices comply with internal governance and frameworks.
- Compliance with financial reporting standards and annual budget timetables.
- Accountable for defining and tracking any risks associated with annual and long-term financial plans.
