Admissions Officer (Undergraduate)
1-year FTC (maternity cover) | £32,000-£37,000 | Hybrid (1-2 days on campus) | London

The role

You will deliver a smooth, efficient admissions service throughout the maternity cover period. Working with the Head of Undergraduate Admissions and colleagues across the institution, you will process applications, issue offers, manage enquiries and ensure applicants receive clear, timely information. You will work confidently with CRM and student record systems and keep processes accurate, compliant and moving at pace.

Key responsibilities

  • Process undergraduate applications in line with policies and entry requirements.
  • Issue accurate offers and decisions.
  • Respond to admissions enquiries within service targets.
  • Maintain high-quality data across admissions and student record systems.
  • Support peak admissions periods such as June to August.
  • Work collaboratively with Admissions, Recruitment, Registry, Visa and Student Services.

What success looks like

You meet offer turnaround targets, keep error rates low and maintain a minimal backlog. You manage your caseload independently, communicate clearly and provide a smooth handover at the end of the contract.

About you

  • Experience in a UK higher education admissions or student records environment.
  • Confident working with systems such as SITS, Banner, Quercus or Slate.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisation.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing a busy, process-heavy workload.

Desirable: Experience with CRM-based admissions systems, UCAS processes or working in a fast-changing environment.
