We are working with a Higher Education institute who are in the market for a SITS Reporting Developer to join them through a SITS implementation project to improve their student experience but also ensure resilience and scalability of the system. An exciting opportunity to shape and influence the future of the universities digital landscape by coming in at the early stages of the transformation.

Role: SRS Reporting Developer

Employment Type: 2 years FTC

Location: Remote

Salary: £41,317 - £48,481.29 - they can appoint at any points of that band

Essential skills:

  • Experience with developing Student Record Systems (SITS:Vision, SRLs, Tasking, & Vistas)
  • Good understanding of XML, CSV, jSON HTML, CSS, Java, Javascript
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management

The Role:

The post of SRS Reporting Developer will work primarily on providing expert knowledge on the SITS data model and how that aids the business processes running within the SITS system. The role holder will carry out reporting and data design and build activities across the SRS Programme data assets i.e. SITS system and the external Data Hub. The role holder will also help define and support adoption of a SRS Programme data and reporting strategy for SITS and the Data Hub going forward. Additionally, the role holder will provide SITS expert data model knowledge to assist the migration and integration activities within the programme and be an SME on the data model and entities within SITS generally.

The current implementation project is being run under the Project Management Office which falls under the Digital Services team. It is due to complete in October 2027. The new system will provide capabilities in all areas of Student management from Admissions, Records, Progression, Awards and Graduation as well as further capabilities in Finance, Course & Curriculum Management and Reporting. The Project has the following core elements:

  1. Implementation of the new system and the build of its core processes, data, and automation
  2. Data Cleanse and Migration of Data from existing systems to the new system
  3. Integration with an extensive portfolio of existing SOAS student applications
  4. Provision of new reports, student communications, and staff / student online portals
  5. Business Change and Transformation associated with new processes and student journeys

You will play a key role in a major student journey transformation programme, influence & leave your mark. This is a great opportunity for someone to come in early stages of the implementation project, work across the whole student lifecycle and having worked on this stream, you would be marketable for senior positions/day rate contracting opportunities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with the configuration of the Stutalk interface & have worked through similar implementation project
  • Exposure to Microsoft low-coding and PowerApps
  • Experience using Azure DevOps
  • Systems Management experience
  • Experience in agile working environment
  • Experience specifically with SAM
