We are thrilled to be partnering with a client who is in the market for a Statutory returns Manager to lead their operational engagement with Higher Education Statistics Agency(HESA) and the continual improvement of that process. You will be responsible for the development and the day-to-day delivery of Statutory Returns as well as being part of strategic decision-making relevant to the statutory returns.

Role: Statutory Returns Manager

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Hybrid | London| 2-3 days per week, can look at once week to London

Salary: £51,522 - £60,000

Benefits: - 18% - 19.3% employer contribution and 8.5% employee + 24 days annual leave + University's closure days + public holidays totaling 37 -40 days + Free university courses post probation

What we need to see as essential:

  • Knowledge or experience of statutory returns (HESA DF, HESES, ITT, Graduate Outcomes, etc)
  • Experience using Tribal SITS as a student record system
  • Demonstratable interrogation of complex data bases
  • Takes a self-starter approach
  • Strong stakeholder management skills (influencing at all levels)

The role:

Reporting to the Registrar you will be responsible for the operational leadership of statutory returns and the oversight of scheduling academic timetables. The university currently have 650 students with strong robust processes that allowed them to return their data to HESA on time with little errors.

The role will involve working closely with a number of Data owner in registry, Data Governance and Executive team to report progress, actions and overall risks to ensure Statutory Reporting is moving forward and advice on strategic decisions. You will have strong stakeholders' management skill sets, because this is a role that will give you autonomy to make an impact how data is processed but also how you contribute to your own professional development. One of the key working streams the post holder will be involved with is the empowerment of data owners within the organisation, supporting the Registrar in taking the next steps towards accountability supporting relevant teams to drive that.

This is a great opportunity to utilise your systematic approach to tease out the complexity presented from such regulatory reporting's/ returns and overseeing the end-to-end management with a team of 1.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with SQL scripting and Data Visual platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, etc)
  • Expertise with Excel in data manipulation and analysis
