Junior Linux Engineer
An opportunity to work with a prestigious University as a key member of the Linux engineering team has been announced, we are looking for someone with a strong infrastructure background who has had exposure with Linux operating systems in a commercial environment. This role is an opportunity for the right person to springboard their career and elevate their knowledge of Linux and Azure cloud technology.
This role allows the right candidate to excel their career in Engineering, whilst working with an organisation that puts technology at the centre of everything they do, you will be coached and development with hands on learning experience to promote your knowledge and understanding of Linux in the hopes to become a senior engineer, as well as having the chance to undergo courses and training to get certified in relevant areas.
As this a developmental role, eagerness and enthusiasm is paramount for this role. Whilst previous experience working with Linux is essential, here your skills will be fine tuned and developed to help promote you in your career.
Role: Junior Linux Engineer
Location: Hybrid working (2 days a week to London)
Salary: £40,000 - £49,000
Contract type: Permanent
Essential skills:
- Significant experience using Linux operating system and Redhat
- Good networking skills
- An understanding of DNS
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking
- Passion and enthusiasm for learning new technology
Within this role you will be given coaching and mentoring every step of the way, it is expected you have a good base level understanding of Linux and infrastructure, you will work across teams and be exposed to other areas of the business throughout, giving you the option to learn new technologies and ways of working.
