Senior Data Engineer (AWS)
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 2 days on-site)
Salary: up to £60,000


Gravitas is working with a multinational energy company, focused on the transition to low-carbon energy.


Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a  Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of data-driven decision-making within the company and for long-term progression and development.


What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain robust data systems and pipelines on AWS.
• Implement scalable, secure data architectures and ensure optimal data flow.
• Lead cloud data platform development, data modelling, and technical planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in data engineering.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with AWS services (Redshift, Lambda, S3, Glue, Lake Formation).
• Expertise in ETL/ELT development, data warehouse design (Kimball, Lakehouse).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to manage projects effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with DBT, Apache Iceberg, Docker (nice to have).
