Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with expertise in HPE enterprise hardware, backup technologies, and enterprise-level networking.
The ideal candidate will also have worked for organisations operating a hybrid co-location approach and be comfortable operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the manufacturing industry. This role reports directly into the Head of IT Operations.
Details:
- Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Location: 2-3 Days per week in South Yorkshire
- Day Rate: £375-450 per day DOE
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Contract: 6 months
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support enterprise infrastructure using the HPE technologies stack
- Maintain and administer HPE Synergy and HPE BladeSystem platforms
- Support and maintain HPE Rack Servers
- Administer HPE Primera and HPE StoreOnce storage solutions
- Implement and manage Veeam Backup & Replication
- Maintain a strong understanding of enterprise networking architecture
- Perform patching, firmware upgrades, capacity planning, and lifecycle management
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational runbooks
Technical Skills & Experience
Essential
- Hands-on experience with HPE Synergy, HPE BladeSystem, HPE Primera, and HPE StoreOnce
- Solid understanding of enterprise networking, including subnetting, firewalls, and WAN
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience supporting Exchange Online environments
- Virtualisation experience using VMware or Hyper-V
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and storage
- Understanding of Azure identity and access management (Entra ID / Azure AD)
- Exposure to the manufacturing sector
- Experience with Citrix
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet devices, particularly FortiGate firewalls
