We are seeking an experienced MS Fabric Consultant to support a major Housing IT transformation initiative. This role will be key in helping the organisation leverage Microsoft Fabric to streamline data, reporting and analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of Microsoft Fabric (formerly Azure Data Factory and the unified data platform), Power BI, and Azure Synapse, with particular experience within the Housing sector or similar public sector environments.
This fully remote position is offered on a contract basis for 6 months, working 3–5 days per week, and is Outside IR35. The day rate for this role is £450.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement Microsoft Fabric solutions tailored to housing services requirements.
- Integrate data from multiple sources into a unified platform, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Deliver data modelling, reporting and dashboard creation using Power BI and other Fabric components.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and stakeholders to determine requirements and technical feasibility.
- Mentor and support internal staff on best practices for using Microsoft Fabric tools.
- Ensure data governance and security standards are adhered to across the solution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in delivering Microsoft Fabric solutions within enterprise or public sector environments.
- Deep knowledge of the Microsoft data platform, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Dataflows, and Lakehouses.
- Strong capability with ETL/ELT processes and data integration best practices.
- Experience in designing scalable solutions with a focus on performance and maintainability.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within Housing IT systems and understanding of social housing operational models.
- Comfortable working in a remote delivery capacity.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with legacy housing systems and the challenges of modernising data platforms.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
