We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a forward-thinking organisation within the Housing Association sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative data-driven projects that directly contribute to the improvement of social housing services across the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced analytical models and visualisation tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify data sources, and provide data-led solutions to real-world challenges within the housing domain.
This is a fully remote contract role, Outside IR35, offering a competitive daily rate of £400. Candidates must be based in the UK and available to work standard UK business hours.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to housing datasets.
- Clean, process, and analyse structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Create clear visualisations and reports to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into data science solutions.
- Deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making in areas such as tenant services, maintenance, and resource allocation.
- Support the development of data strategy and best practices within the organisation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, ideally within the public sector or housing industry.
- Strong expertise in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or matplotlib/seaborn.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-starter mindset.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and have access to a suitable remote working environment.
