Automation Tester | 2 Open roles | up to £42k - £49k | 2 year FTC | Remote
We are supporting a university on exclusive basis who are in the market for two Test Analysts to work on a well-defined implementation of a new Student Management System. The successful candidates will be led by a skilled test manager who is currently outlining testing plan & strategy, governance and framework.

Role: Test Analyst / Automation Tester
Employment Type: FTC for 2 years initially
Location: Remote - periodic visit to central London - Once every 2 weeks then once a month after 3 months
Salary: £42,217 - £49,381 - Inclusive of London weighting allowance

What we need to see (Essential):
- Experience in all stages of the testing life cycle (API, Integration testing, etc)
- Extensive experience with Automation testing ( Selenium, Playwright, Cyprus), involving writing Test scripts from scratch
- Strong communication & stakeholder management skillsets
- Ability to manage and resolve conflict with cross teams
The Role
Reporting to the Test Manager; the post holders will be a key part of a high profile, well-funded strategic implementation project where the university is looking to replace their existing system with a new one. You will play a crucial role in devising contributing to system testing to ensure all integrated and developed functionalities are fit for purpose and of high quality.
You will be joining the organisation at early stage of implementation and be given the opportunity to write test scripts from scratch so experience doing similar work is important. This will also involve leading on UAT testing sessions with key stakeholders (PM. Solutions Architects, Lead BA, Developers, Suppliers, etc), developing testing plans as per UAT release and ensuring the testing is carried out to agreed levels and in line with the objectives of the operating model. The successful candidates will have a good level of experience with automated & performance testing using Playwright ideally but other tools are also applicable. You will be joining the project at it's early stages; giving you a high level influence on the design / strategy of automated testing to leave your mark.
Key projects will include:
- Acting as a main point of contact when it comes to any information related to testing, testing resources, planning and testing priorities
- Planning testing rounds and coming up with innovative / latest testing methodologies
- Preparation and engagement for annual upgrade of the student management system
- Setting up minimum documentation required for testing & regular refresh of testing environment(s)
- Setting up testing strategy inline with the organisation's wider strategic plan & formalising the culture for this
What we would like to see (Desirable):
- Working in Higher Education environment
- Experience with Jira, using x-ray plug in
- Demonstrable experience in leading a small team of Test Analysts
- Experience working in data warehousing and integration projects
- Demonstrable experience with Azure SQL, data lakes and data factory
- Experience designing and implementing test frameworks
- Experience designing and implementing test frameworks and governance
