Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced UK Management Liability Underwriter to leading global insurance provider that specializes in underwriting a range of commercial insurance products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and underwriting management liability risks, ensuring profitable growth while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite management liability risks in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to drive business development and retention.
- Analyse financial statements and other relevant information to determine appropriate risk exposure.
- Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and company policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues across underwriting, claims, and risk management teams.
- Support the development of new products and underwriting strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in management liability underwriting within the UK insurance market.
- Strong understanding of directors and officers (D&O), employment practice liability (EPL), and fiduciary liability insurance.
- Excellent analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial statements.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of underwriting tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Ability to balance commercial decision-making with risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with London market practices and broker distribution channels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications or progress towards ACII.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with multinational or complex accounts.
