Are you an ambitious Underwriter with strong Casualty expertise? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to play a key role within our Casualty Major Accounts team, working across a significant and multinational portfolio. The successful candidate will have a solid background in liability underwriting—ideally with large and multinational organisations—and will be responsible for driving portfolio growth with key brokers and clients while managing and developing an existing book of business.

This role is suited to an established Senior Underwriter who is motivated, inquisitive and ready for a new challenge, or a driven and passionate Underwriter looking to take the next step in their career.


Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business in line with underwriting guidelines, budget, and the local business plan.
  • Represent the organisation to brokers, internal stakeholders, and external clients.
  • Build and service relationships with key producers and clients through proactive engagement, including external meetings focused on business acquisition, retention, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support the development and implementation of underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to ensure profitability and quality control.
  • Contribute to product development within areas of expertise to enhance client retention and secure new business, collaborating with colleagues across regions and business lines where needed.
  • Meet standards relating to policy documentation, quoting timeframes, and compliance.
  • Manage and mentor junior colleagues, providing coaching and development to build a high‑performing underwriting team.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet business goals.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience in Casualty underwriting, ideally with large multinational accounts.
  • Proven experience working with brokers and clients.
  • Results-driven with the ability to make independent decisions and operate proactively.
  • Recognised as an experienced professional within the market.
  • Leadership, mentoring, or team development experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Extensive market knowledge.
  • ACII qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing technical and broader business skill development.
