Senior Reinsurance Claims Adjuster
Our client is a leading organisation that specializes in reinsurance solutions, with a focus on liabilities and long-tail lines. This role offers an opportunity to join a dedicated team that manages proportional quota share and excess of loss reinsurance claims, primarily in liabilities such as general liability, and also some property reinsurance cases. The organisation’s international portfolio targets US and Bermuda-based cedants, handling both domestic and global business.
Role Overview:
The Senior Reinsurance Claims Adjuster will play a crucial role in managing and adjusting reinsurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of liabilities in line with policy terms. This position supports the wider claims team in handling complex cases across international markets, contributing to the organisation’s reputation for professional service and technical excellence.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Significant experience (at least 10-15 years) in reinsurance claims, preferably within syndicate, broker, or law firm settings
• Strong understanding of proportional quota share and excess of loss reinsurance claims in liabilities and property lines
• Expertise in working with US and Bermuda-based cedants
• Knowledge of claims handling in long-tail liability insurance, including general liability
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and adjust reinsurance claims, ensuring adherence to policy coverage and reporting standards
• Handle both liability and property claims, including complex and long-tail cases
• Collaborate with brokers, syndicates, and legal teams to resolve claims efficiently
• Maintain detailed claim files, provide accurate reserve estimates, and ensure compliance with company procedures
• Support the team in maintaining relationships with international cedants and brokers
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in reinsurance claims handling within a relevant market setting
• Proven track record in liabilities and property reinsurance claims, ideally with international exposure
• Demonstrable understanding of US and Bermuda reinsurance markets
• Right to work in the UK and available for on-site work in a hybrid environment
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
